ALE is not a typical conference. We run it using Open Space technology.

The theme we chose for the Open Space this year is co-creation. We believe when minds come together, magic happens. And in today’s complex world, we can't just rely on individual brilliance. We need collective genius. So let's blend our diverse experiences, insights, and genius to co-create a better future for our craft.

Our marvelous Open Space host Inge Gorgon will hold a time and a space for us to bring our own agenda and make the most of the 3 days.

Moreover, to get the energy and ideas flowing, we will start each morning with an interactive keynote.

Stop and Smell the Roses - the Quest to find calm and find meaning in constant change by Sylvia and Susanne Taylor

In this keynote, Susanne and Sylvia will help us reorient our attitudes toward uncertainty and the unknown, so that we can see differently, ground in our truth, and be empowered to thrive even during unprecedented change. Through the introduction of the Flux Mindset everyone will get to diagnose and build their own baseline to lean into the hyper speed of change today. In particular, we will focus on two Flux superpowers that overlap with our agile world: letting go of the future and running slower. Using Liberating Structures, and digital tools, everyone will have a chance to explore, be inspired, share, and assess which superpower they want to focus on. Together we will co-create new ways of activating a more powerful relationship with change.

Dynamic Reteaming Interactive by Heidi Helfand

Team change is inevitable. It’s only a matter of time. People will join our teams, and people will leave our teams. Sometimes our teams grow big and split or merge together. New teams start. Our favorite teammate switches to another team.  All this reteaming can feel quite dynamic. Quite exhilarating. And at times, quite unnerving, especially when it’s happening in multiple ways, at the same time, all around us. Not to mention the fact that we still need to deliver the right things, with high quality, and on time. So let’s explore and interact with all this dynamic reteaming, discover some predictable patterns and practical tactics, and reframe the discussion around teams to acknowledge this reality.

Perfect Timing in diverse teams by Nancy Beers

In this interactive presentation, Nancy sheds new light on how to plan your events within a team being a team coach, agile leader, scrum master etc.

How often do you reconsider the timing of meetings within your team?

Let's start using science, insights and the preferences of our team members to consciously plan our meetings instead of "when is everyone available?"

Based on the insights of 'Deepwork' by Cal Newport and 'When' by Daniel Pink combined with human biology and common sense, Nancy experimented with different teams to figure out the perfect timing within a specific team.

This talk will cover hormone levels, neurological insights and chronotypes that influence the best timing to do certain meetings at certain times.

And we will play games. Since Nancy is a game based learning expert.

You might want to give your team a heads up about a new meeting structure after experiencing this talk…
